To be frank with you, Sasuke technically didn’t kill Itachi. Itachi’s illness killed Itachi. But it is true that Itachi’s illness was exacerbated by his fight with Sasuke, and that Sasuke likely pushed Itachi over the limits, which is what got bro killed. We do know that, during the battle between brothers, Naruto and the others were searching for Sasuke, but were held off by Tobi who wanted Sasuke to kill Itachi.
