**WALK THROUGH**
I started this card by rounding the edges of all four of the different pieces of cardstock I was using. I used the Martha Stewart corner punch, but if you don’t have a corner punch, you could always use a stencil instead.
A simple stencil can be a great tool to use when you’re trying to put your own spin on a simple shape. In fact, I wanted to cut out a simple wide check mark looking design for the center of this card, so I took a ruler and made it myself. It took a few tries, but I finally got it looking the way I wanted, and I was able to keep it for future cards.
TIP: WHENEVER YOU’RE USING A STENCIL HOLD IT DOWN FIRMLY OR TAPE IT DOWN TO ENSURE IT STAYS IN PLACE.
The next step was to mount the pink paper onto the front of the card. This pink would eventually go behind the stenciled brown cardstock once I add the sentiment to it. It’s important to put the sentiment on, before I placed the brown cardstock onto it’s pink backdrop because I’m going to use dimensional tape under the brown cardstock to make it pop off the page. If I place it paper on the card before I stamp it, the dimensional tape would cause the sentiment to stamp poorly.
Once I stamped the brown paper though, I could position it on the card and then add the gems. I chose three gems to give it a bit of an ombre look, but you could use buttons, or anything else that you feel fits your design well. Then, last but not least, I placed a white insert inside the card, so that It can easily be written in.
