Turning Briar to Bulldog
A quick stroll through the steps of transforming a treated block of briar wood into a bulldog shape using a metal lathe. This is the method used by most handmade pipemakers around the world. After this, we use grinding wheels, files, and sandpaper to remove the block from the bottom of the bowl and to shape it into its final form. See my full video on the process by visiting my channel.
