In 1850, a huge fight between President Zachary Taylor and the Southern Slave Power was fast setting the United States on a path to Civil War. At the height of the crisis, President Taylor came down with a stomach bug and died. Coincidence? Many weren't so sure

Who Killed Zachary Taylor takes us through the tense political climate that surrounded the sudden death of the President and the myriad of conspiracies which arose over the years that followed. Collective remembering of Taylor's death at different periods of time and in the wake of different events took on different forms and the theory that Taylor was assassinated led people to question official narratives about subsequent presidential assassinations.
