Henning introduces Unpoly, a library that enhances HTML progressively. Unlike traditional server-side rendering, which replaces the entire page and loses state, Unpoly updates specific parts, retaining state for a smoother experience.

Unlike htmx, Unpoly offers a high-level API, enabling modern UIs without a separate client-side codebase. Unpoly is easy to set up with a single JS and CSS file, supports form validation, optimistic rendering, caching, link preloading, and instant navigation. It provides a server-centric approach, minimizing custom JavaScript.
