Filmed May 21, 2023.

On Sunday, May 21st, I decided to film a simple train at the Eckhoff Street railroad crossing. This is a crossing I haven't filmed in over 3 years, so I decided to get a re-recording of it. AMTK 777 passes through by after standing here for about 20 minutes, which arrived at the Anaheim ARTIC station near here.

Locomotives/consist:
AMTK 6908 - Surfliner BiLevel
AMTK 6408 - Surfliner BiLevel
AMTK 6412 - Surfliner BiLevel
AMTK 6301 - Surfliner BiLevel
AMTK 34095 - Superliner II
AMTK 6807 - Surfliner BiLevel
CDTX 2121 - Siemens SC-44

Crossing info:
Crossing is owned and maintained by Metrolink.
This crossing is a quiet zone.
Crossing is on the Metrolink: Orange Subdivision.

Signal on the median: 1 pair of 12x24" Safetran/Hawker Siddely lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, WCH gate mechanism, Aurora Alstom LED gatelights, and a Safetran base

Signal on the right: 2 pairs of 12x24" Safetran/Hawker Siddely lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, WCH gate mechanism, Aurora Alstom LED gatelights, Safetran base, and a WCH electronic bell

Signal on the far left: 2 pairs of 12x24" Safetran/Hawker Siddely lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, WCH gate mechanism, Aurora Alstom LED gatelights, Safetran base, and a NEG electronic bell

Signal on the far median: 1 pair of 12x24" Safetran/Hawker Siddely lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, WCH gate mechanism, Aurora Alstom LED gatelights, and a Safetran base

This crossing is alright, and it's a pretty decent setup, too. Both the shoulder signals and the far median signal were all installed in the mid 1990s. The lights were originally 12x20" Safetran incandescent lights, NEG incandescent gatelights, and the original bells here were two Safetran mechanical bells. It appears between the late 1990s and the mid 2000s, the original close median signal was replaced with its current one based on the different WCH equipment it has, and that was Metrolink's choice of equipment during that time frame. As always by 2005-2006, the Safetran incandescent light inserts would have been replaced with the current Dialight Ball LEDs, and one of the Safetran mechanical bells would be replaced with a WCH mechanical bell. Then by 2011, the pedestrain signals on the left were installed, along the original NEG gatelights being replaced with Aurora Alstom LED gatelights. Though, it seems the left pedestrain signal didn't recieve its actual lights till 2012. Skipping 6 years later, this crossing got major changes. All of the 12x20" background heads were replaced with 12x24 background heads, and the original Safetran and WCH mechanical bell were both replaced with WCH electronic bells. Although, as you can see, one was replaced shortly after that, because it apparently wasn't working right which I got in video in 2018. It was replaced with the NEG electronic bell that now sits in its place. Gate barriers were also replaced.
