Reddit is home to many mystery and crime-solving communities. Subreddits filled with thousands of people, sharing theories and digging deep in the hopes of cracking cases. Unfortunately though when you get a bunch of online amateur investigative journalists together, problems arise. Reddit is notorious for several high-profile examples in which users of the site falsely accused innocent people of crimes they didn't commit, resulting in slanderous claims and damages.
