This city in Bolivia is home of one of the largest statues of Jesus Christ in the world the Cristo de la Concordia. You might think "this statue looks familiar" it's modeled after the statue of "Cristo the Redeemer" in Rio de Janeiro. The Statue stands at a height of 40 meters (or 131 feet) on top of the San Pedro hill. It is overlooking the city and was built between 1987 and 1994. The statue was built as a symbol for peace and Reconciliation and was named after the city's role in ending the Civil War in Bolivia in 1899.
The Cristo de la concordia has become an important land mark for Cochabamba and draws thousands of visitors each year
Visitors can climb the staircase to the top of the statue where they can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding mountains it's accessible by car there is s small Road, by climbing 2000 steps, The walk takes around 40 minutes or tyou can take the cable car also known as teleferico.
If you ever want to visit this statue by yourself it's easy to do Cochabamba has a good connection to other cities in the country for example by airplane by bus or by car once you're in the city I would really recommend to take a taxi it's around 20 meters from the airport that's all for now from Cochabamba and Cristo de la Concordia.
