Dreams may seem scary, amazing, mysterious, however, understanding the meaning of our dreams can be disconcerting, even though there are theories to explain why we dream, however, it is not possible to understand their purpose and much less how to interpret them. Psychologists have developed theories that can help with this purpose.
Dreams are like the path to the unconscious mind, this theory indicates that they mean what people long for, fear, do not want to recognize, invent their fantasies. According to what Carl Jung indicates, archetypes and the collective unconscious, represent repressed desires, and the exploration of the undeveloped parts of the mind. According to Calvin Hall, he presents a theory linked to the process of cognition is what people do and think in their waking state and repeat it in their own dreams as well.
A collaborator of Hall's presents his similar theory in his book entitled “Dreams as a Reflection of Waking Life.”
Freud indicated that dreams are the path to the unconscious mind, suggesting that they are related to what we want to achieve.
Dreams manifest our desires in the imaginary form of events that serve to disguise the latent content in the unconscious of the dreamer. Sleep work describes 4 elements:
Condensation: a large number of ideas and concepts are represented in a single dream, grouping them within a thought or an image.
Displacement: The dream work element disguises the emotional content and its meaning by confusing the important and insignificant aspects.
