in my last vlog of 2024, I spent a cozy few days in the kitchen baking simple and delicious treats, including tiramisu and chocolate-covered dates. I also tried making bocconcini snowmen, a mini bouquet from garden branches, and enjoyed a refreshing hike. it’s been a mix of creativity, relaxation, and quality time with loved ones. thank you for being part of my journey this year—see you in 2025!

Crème Pâtissière
Ingredients:
1 egg
35g sugar
25g cornstarch
250ml (1 cup) milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Steps:
Mix sugar and cornstarch in a bowl.
Add the egg and whisk until smooth.
Stir in 1/3 cup of milk.
Heat the remaining milk until it starts to boil.
Gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture while whisking.
Return the mixture to the heat and whisk continuously until thickened.
Remove from heat, cover with plastic wrap (make small holes for steam), and let it cool completely.
Once cooled, mix with an electric mixer for a smooth texture.
Turmeric Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
1.5 cups almond milk
1.5 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1.5 teaspoons ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper
Tiramisu
Ingredients:
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1 package ladyfingers (12 pieces)
1/2 cup cold prepared espresso or strong coffee
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
Steps:
Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture and mix again.
Dip ladyfingers in espresso (lightly or generously, as you prefer).
Layer dipped ladyfingers in a dish, followed by a layer of the cream mixture.
Repeat layers, finishing with the cream on top.
Dust with cocoa powder.
Chill for 4–6 hours before serving.
