Loyset Compère (c. 1445 – 16 August 1518) was a Franco-Flemish composer of the Renaissance. Of the same generation as Josquin des Prez, he was one of the most significant composers of motets and chansons of that era, and one of the first musicians to bring the light Italianate Renaissance style to France.

Crux triúmphans décus poténtium,
crux a Chrísto sáncta et amábilis,
nóstra sálus et desidérium,
spes nóstra et róbur fortitúdinis
sánguine Jésu tíncta et decoráta,
crux spléndens a fónte lúminis,
adorámus te, peccatóres nímis,
ut víta nóstra tíbi póssit ésse gráta.

Jésus! nómen dígnum triumphále,
Jésus! nómen excédens ómnia,
Jésus! súper ómnes núllum tále,
Jésus! ómnium spes única,
mea tíbi pándo peccáta
píe clámans misericórdiam.
Tu es Jésus, pax et protéctio,
indígnus támen ad te vénio,
ut me tráhas ad túam glóriam.
Amen.
