Back home after a vacation in Canada, spouses Barney and Betty Hill begin to experience various physical ailments and have frightening nightmares. Going to Dr. Benjamin Simon to find out what was happening to them, through a few sessions of regressive hypnosis the couple discover that on the evening of December 19, 1961, while they were crossing the White Mountains to return home, they were abducted by aliens.
