Over half a century ago, a fire at the MGM Film Vault destroyed the last remaining copy of Todd Browning’s 1927 horror film, London After Midnight. It hasn’t been seen since. Michelle (Run Red Run) and I decided to usher in the Halloween season by discussing this film, its history, and how Lon Chaney’s terrifying monster has withstood the test of time, despite the film’s disappearance.

Midnight Matinees is a Pocket Universe Productions’ premier horror anthology series. As of this writing, to hear their recreation of London After Midnight, go to Spotify and search for “Midnight Matinees London After Midnight.” It’s a 2-part series, each part being about a half hour long. If, for any reason, they end up pulling the show, I’d urge you to look for it elsewhere as it’s a fun bit of horror history. I believe it's also available in Apple Podcasts.
