"I lost a leg, I'm taking my life back": Morena and the accident caused by a hit-and-run driver
On the night between June 7 and 8, 2024, shortly before 1:00 a.m., Morena Giangrande's life changed forever. The Neapolitan girl, who hadn't yet turned 17, was riding a scooter with her boyfriend when she was hit by a hit-and-run driver on Via Pietro Castellino, in Rione Alto.
Morena spent 14 days in the intensive care unit of the Cardarelli Hospital, teetering between life and death, until she was transferred to the hospital's Trauma Center, where doctors amputated her leg to save her life.
