How to make chocolate Madeleines
In this video I will show you how to make chocolate madeleine cookies from scratch. This is a very easy recipe! Have you ever wondered how to make fluffy cakes? The secret is in how you whisk! Watch this video to lean to make French madeleines.
Chocolate and Pistachio dipped Madeleines
3 whole eggs at room temperature
1/2 cup caster sugar
4 table spoons of olive oil
1 1/2 cups of sieved self-raising flour
Grated rind of orange, plus 1 tablespoon of orange juice
1/4 cup of melted dark chocolate
a few tablespoon of pistachio slivers
Preheat your oven to 170 C (335 F), conventional. Grease and flour a madeline tin.
Whisk the eggs with sugar until pale and fluffy, add oil and mix well. Gradually add the flour and mix to combine. Add orange zest and juice and mix well. Spoon the batter onto the madeleine mould (1 tablespoon per hole, as they will grow in the oven).
Bake for 5-7 minutes or until pale golden. Cool on a rack.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave or by placing it in a bowl on top of a pot of boiling water (make sure the water doesn’t touch the bowl or the chocolate will seize). Dip one end of the madeleine in the melted chocolate,then dust with pistachio slivers and set aside to set.
