Sitting Crossed legs? Know the effect
Hi there and welcome to my physiotherapy channel. Today, we're going to be talking about the ill effects of cross-legged seating.

You may have heard that cross-legged seating is a comfortable and relaxed way to sit. But did you know that it can actually be bad for your health?

According to research, sitting with your legs crossed for extended periods of time can cause a number of problems, including poor circulation, muscle fatigue, and back pain.

Cross-legged seating can also lead to a condition called meralgia paresthetica, which is a nerve disorder that causes tingling, numbness, and pain in the outer thigh.

In addition, crossing your legs while seated can also put pressure on your spine and lead to improper posture, which can cause long-term problems with your back and neck.

So what can you do to avoid the negative effects of cross-legged seating? One option is to sit with your feet flat on the ground, which can help improve your posture and circulation. You can also try using a footrest or a small stool to elevate your feet, which can help take pressure off your lower back and legs.

Remember, it's important to pay attention to your posture and seating position to avoid the ill effects of cross-legged seating. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in my next video.
