Discusses the idea of an Irish 'canon' - suppoosedly the best texts - and factors that can influence canon formation. Thomas Moore is of particular interest because the once-Bard of Erin has largely been neglected since his death, despite writing on key Irish themes. I ask students to consider whether Moore broaches these themes in the wrong way
