Why software synths might be better than hardware (for me)
Hey, I hope you are doing well! I have been thinking about why software synths, VSTs and iOS synths don’t feel as exciting as hardware synths. I recently had been scrolling used gear sites looking for a Minilogue XD and redirected that energy to learning Synth1. I spent 2 weeks only making music with this ancient VST synth from 2002 and I found myself excited and inspired the same way I normally do when I get new hardware. I think there is something to explore there. The TL:DR is I’m going to try and use the iOS synths on my phone and see if I can feel inspired to make sounds and music that is interesting to me.
