Vintage Sikorsky S-58T Sling Lift Operations, Midwest Helicopter Airways, 4K Plane Spotting
Watch as this vintage Sikorsky S-58T (N589S) helicopter which was built in 1957 conducting sling load operations near Lawrence Municipal Airport. The S-58 was a later modification of the Sikorsky H-34 which a piston powered helicopter used by the Marine Corps in the 1950s and 1960s. This example is operated by Midwest Helicopter Airways which provides heavy lift as well as helicopter firefighting services around the United States. Todays' operation appeared to be lifting air handlers on top of a new Amazon warehouse being build about a mile north of the airport. Certainly a cool operation to watch.
