Torrevieja is situated on the Costa Blanca, approximately 40 minutes south of Alicante airport.
It isn’t a resort in the package holiday sense, there are only a few hotels. But in the town there are many excellent recidences with pools and beautiful gardens. Thousands of people from the north of Spain have set up home permanently in the town.Additionally, there is a strong contingent of British, Irish, German and Scandinavian citizens who stay in Torrevieja year-round. Many people buy property here for temporary residence or for rental. No problem renting appartments for your rest at vocation time. The local people, are friendly and welcome both national and international tourism. English is widely spoken.
There are fabulous beaches with fine sand and crystal clear waters. La Mata, Los Locos, El Cura, El Acequión and Los Náufragos together make up the beaches of the Torreviejan coast.
All of the local beaches hold the European Blue Flag for ‘Clean Sea’ and excellent facilities.
The city has a well-developed infrastructure. There are many restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets, parks, a wonderful promenade and a lot of entertainment for children.

Se ei ole lomakohde pakettimatkailun mielessä, vaan hotelleja on vain muutama. Mutta kaupungissa on monia erinomaisia paikkoja, joissa on uima-altaita ja kauniita puutarhoja. Tuhannet ihmiset Pohjois-Espanjasta ovat asettaneet kodin pysyvästi kaupunkiin. Paikalliset ihmiset ovat ystävällisiä ja tervetulleita niin kansalliseen kuin kansainväliseen matkailuun. Englantia puhutaan laajasti.
