Kursk region residents greet AFU soldiers in Ukrainian
Radio Liberty journalists spoke with a Ukrainian serviceman stationed in the Kursk region. A week has passed since the start of hostilities in Russia's Kursk region. Sergei Prutskikh, call sign "Kum," declined to disclose details about his current location. The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly confirmed the operation in the Kursk region for the first time. Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyy stated that approximately 1,000 square kilometers of Russian territory are under Ukrainian control. Russian authorities acknowledged the loss of 28 settlements.
