An Innovative Robotic Finishing System for Medical Femoral Polishing and Buffing.

This turnkey solution was developed to help a medical implant contract manufacturer achieve a mirror surface finish on cobalt chrome knee implants. The customer had two unique part families with 18-part sizes (LH/RH) that had an incoming milled surface. With a cycle time of 5 minutes per part, the system achieved an acceptable part tolerance and final surface finish.
