Not pictured: loot with dead stats. What is a dead stat? Say you get a stat with a gear wheel next to it (which means it only affects that weapon), increases elemental damage by oh I don't know, 200%, which is a real and possible amount. Now, that gun doesn't do elemental damage at all. It's a stat that literally wastes a space, it does literally nothing. LITERALLY NOTHING!
