Tonight we take a look back at round 4 of the Middle of the Pack Racing League (MPRL) Touring Car Racing Championship for 2022 as brought to you on iRacing. Whilst the round took place on Wednesday 2nd March 2022, we shall be bringing you all of the racing action as if it were live!
The fourth round sees us kick-off the British Touring Cup with our drivers making a visit to the National variant of the Donington Park circuit. Fast-flowing with plenty of undulations, the circuit is sure to generate close packed racing action as it does in the real-world British Touring Car Championship (BTCC); and will definitely keep our drivers on edge after their week break from the conclusion of the America’s Cup!
In the PRO class, after sealing the America’s Cup with a second place finish behind Tristan Bayliss at Watkins Glen International, Jason Landry leads the championship by an ever-growing margin which now extends to 28 points. One would expect Landry to be able to translate his form across the Atlantic to the British tarmac, but could we potentially see the rise of his pursuers Henry Morse; Eric Nickens; and Tristan Bayless?
In the AM class, Alberto Alvarez continues to be the one to beat having secured the America’s Cup with a win at Watkins Glen International ; and in the process extended his championship lead over Duncan Marais to 17 points. However, with the AM class beginning to close the gap in terms of race-pace to Alvarez, could we potentially see the momentum shift in favour of a rising challenger such as Marais; or Roger Ganesh?
There is only one way to find out: Tune in and see how the first round of the British Touring Cup unfolds!
