Blackmagic has surprised us all with the announcement of their new codec: Blackmagic RAW. This new codec seems very similar to ProRes RAW, and could become a worthy contender in the codec field! Offering similar benefits to ProRes RAW: smaller file sizes, better compression, single files, and RAW-like capabilities, this is certainly a big announcement worthy of some discussion.
