♡ In loving memory of Buddy ♡
The text goes by a little fast so feel free to pause as needed. It also gets hard to read so I am going to type it out here in the desc as well.
My Westie Buddy passed away on October 28, 2019, at 11:30 AM. He was diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer on April 29, 2019. The vet only gave him a few months then he'd have to be put down. She said she's seen dogs go for a year but she didn't expect it from him. He did really well. You would never know he had cancer unless you lived with him. It was kinda weird. It went through spells of doing exceptionally well and then declining pretty hard but he'd come out of it. He had a day where it was full of life and energy that he hadn't had in a long time. Then he cascaded. He wouldn't get off the couch. He'd only move to switch which end of the couch he wanted to lay on. Then he stopped eating. I had to bring his bowl over to the couch and talk him into eating but he'd only take the pills. If anything at all. This went on for about 3 days. On October 26, 2019 he started showing signs of discomfort more than normal and by October 27, 2019 it was so bad. He couldn't stand, sit, or lay down without being very uncomfortable. He'd just sit in a corner and fidget and kinda grunt a little. As night started to come it only got worse and we knew it wasn't going to get better so we made the call. I stayed up with him most of the night and set an alarm for 8:00 AM the next morning. I spent all morning with him. A vet arrived at our house at 11:00 AM and he passed away in my arms at 11:30 AM. We knew he wouldn't make it through the winter but we thought he might make it to his twelfth birthday. But yeah... God had other plans.
