Congratulations on making it through the first 24 hours with your breast implant! Today, you'll have a follow-up appointment for a wound check and to have photos taken (also known as POD 1). It's normal to experience swelling after surgery, and it's common for patients to have significant swelling in the first few days after breast augmentation. Don't worry, this is not your final result! As your body adjusts to the new breast implants and the surgical area heals, the swelling will gradually subside. Trust in the process and follow the instructions provided by your surgeon to ensure a smooth recovery.

To help things along, here are a few things you can do:

Limit arm movement for the first 5-7 days to ensure proper healing. Avoid any over-the-top hand gestures or waving.
Wear tops that button or zip up to avoid the need for overhead lifting.
Most patients report a pain level of 3-4 on a scale of 1-10. If you're feeling any discomfort, don't be afraid to take pain medication to manage it. It's better to stay ahead of the pain than to let it get out of control.
Continue walking and avoid lifting heavy objects to allow for proper healing.
If any bandages are wet, change them to prevent your skin from getting too moist.
Do not remove the steri-strips.
Continue wearing the surgical bra provided to you.
