Ipod Original Fix
ok so i had the sad face icon on my ipod, and i read this bulletin about taking out the hard drive and shaking it, but if you dont want to take out the hard drive and mess with the insides of the ipod, just lightly tap the entire ipod on a desk or table. Rotate it and try to tap each part of the ipod (not the screen cause you dont want to crack it) and sure enough it worked for me and might work for you.
