The Tank from Brutal Doom reappears in vanilla DOOM as a cyberdemon-sized nightmare. One of the biggest tanks built by the military was stolen by the heinous hellspawn of Hell for use as a battle vehicle fit for two Baron-sized crew.
The Cyberdemon, on the other hand, appeared on the shores of Hell to fight Doomguy early but was eradicated as usual. The relatives of the late Baron Brothers, the Baron Cousins, feared the arrival of Doomguy would jeopardise the celebration of the newly built Tower of Babel and got into their big big mech to kick Doomguy's ass for all time.
Oh, if only they knew.
