RMIT second year (sem1) projects ♥
hello its almost 5am but your local makaruu is alive and has finally uploaded something yay!
Most of the stuff i wanna say is in the vid but ah well I guess I'll talk more here I'm very tired but hey I'm alive!! Also ye my real name is Joanne so I'm cool w anyone calling me that! Maka, Komugi, Mugi, Misty, Joanne i dont mind any name u throw at me I've had a lot over the time ahahaha
sO um I'll talk about the projects first in order I guess?
Firsly is the paper one which was a lotta fun actually!! Although I was busy with concept world so I left it until the end sooooo I animated the whole thing in one very stressful week aha whoops. I put the hundreds (rip) of cells together in tvpaint pro 12 which is expensive but hey unis got it so I might as well use it while I can AHAHA
neeeext is my lip sync project thing! We spent the first few weeks preparing (concepts, char design, storyboards, animatics etc) so I actually animated the final thing in about another hellish week. We had to use symbols and tweens in flash (and it hurt my soul) to animate the character and it was a pain to make the puppet work properly! I had fun recording the audio though ahaha
aaaand next next is my 3D project! For this one we spent the first half of the semester making our enviroment and doing the UV mapping + some textures. Theeeen we modeled the character and rigged/skinned it (which I found really fun, I love rigging!) and then animated and added the final textures (some which I made personally such as some of the wood, paintings and powerpoint) in another week of stress and then rendered it! It took like almost 24 hours even with me hogging 3 computers at uni to render and not even a super HD quality like wow rendering is a pain. Theres some minor problems but let's hope no one sees AHAHA
oH BOY THE LAST PROJECT NOW THIS ONE I GOT A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THATS FOR SURE. Firstly my friend (Vianne) is a life savior and secondly the team work with the other member who slacked and made things very difficult was NOT FUN. I was the lead animator and had to do about 80-85% of it in one week and it was hell on earth. I took a heck of a lotta shortcuts and towards the end my friend did the lineart for some of the scenes I sketched (ily vianne) and I had to use holds and loops and animate in 4s which hurt me so much and this entire project was the most painful experience I've ever been through I'm glad it's over.
Oh ye as for like program credit for that vid theres quite a bit. I did my finalised animation in Toon Boom Harmony Advanced 12 and my friend Vianne finished those animations in Adobe Animate cc. She also did the wonderful backgrounds in Paint tool sai (and one of the animated scenes in it as well) and then we used photoshop for a few things here and there aaaand adobe after effects for the editing and I think thats about it wow
