Giganotosaurus' name means giant southern reptile, which is already telling of what to expect from a fight with this dinosaur. Until Giganotosaurus was discovered, the T-rex was thought to have been the largest meat-eating dinosaur.
The T-rex was both an active predator and a scavenger, and it was also believed to be an apex predator due to its physical traits. It was, without a doubt, one of the most successful predators of its time.
