Harvey Proctor will confront allegations he was connected to a child abuse ring that operated in Westminster.

Metropolitan Police are investigating claims of sexual abuse, including three alleged murders of children, in the 1970s and 80s.

It is claimed that children were sexually abused by high profile figures at properties around London and the Home Counties.

Scotland Yard explained that one of their main witnesses, known only as 'Nick', was "credible and true".

Proctor has strenuosly denied any involvement in child abuse.
He stated: "When people hear what has been claimed about what I am supposed to have done, they will find it both astonishing, totally far-fetched and hair-raising."

The former Tory MP represented the Basildon constituency in Essex from 1979 to 1983 and Billericay from 1983 to 1987.

Proctor has confirmed to Sky News that he will read a prepared statement and take questions from the press at the St Ermins hotel in Victoria, central London at 2pm.
