Brucellosis
Explanatory video of the most important points you should know about Brucellosis. Brucellosis plays a fundamental role in the history of medicine as it was the first documented zoonosis. If you notice, at first it was believed that there was one disease in animals and another in humans. Later, it was shown that animals could be reservoirs of the bacteria that affected humans, and much later, it was shown that it actually made both of them sick! This was a difficult idea to accept because nothing like this had been discussed until then; the disease was very different in humans than in animals, and on top of that, this was said by a woman.
But over time, it was accepted, and we realized it was true: that there are organisms that can make both sick.
