Installing a 40L Fuel Tank in a Ranger Motorhome — South American Preparation (Ep. 2)
Installation of 40L of extra fuel in the Ranger 4x4 motorhome for a trip through South America. Preparation series — autonomy, safety, and overlanding.
The original Ranger 4x4 tank holds about 80 liters, which normally allows for approximately 700 km of travel on good roads. But when you start planning a long trip through South America, with remote regions and long distances between gas stations, relying solely on the original tank can become a risk.
That's why we decided to make an important improvement to our handcrafted Terra Bruta motorhome.
In this video, we show the installation of two 20-liter fuel cans, fixed to the rear of the motorhome with appropriate metal supports. This modification increases our range and is part of the preparation series for the big trip we will be taking through South America.
After the first trip with the motorhome, we noticed several details that could be improved — and now we are carefully adjusting everything before hitting the road again.
