Can RPA replace Test Automation Tool or will be a complementary part of Test Automation Strategy along with Selenium, DevOps and other tools?
Quite often, I get this question from QA / Test Professional.
Test Strategists, what is your opinion?
With wider adoption of RPA, being the low/no code, seamless automation approach to many applications and RPA a genesis from testing tools, confuse the testing professionals.
Per my experience, both are made and solves different set of problems. One made for automating regression suites being part of DevOps, however RPA made for automating humans efforts in process automation.
So, the answer is “NO REPLACEMENT BUT COMPLIMENTARY TOOL PART OF OVERALL TEST STRATEGY”
Still, RPA can be part of the Test Automation Strategy and can be used to automate a) Date preparation b) QA process c) Collaboration with business to test/automate UAT and production.
Agree? Disagree?
But bigger question? Are the QA community ready to take up the big opportunity of $300 billion of Intelligent Automation by 2025?
