●Italian Sonnet/ Petrarchan Sonnet:
●Structure: Consists of 14 lines. The first 8 lines are called octave and the last 6 lines are called the sestet. The rhyme scheme is ABBAABBA CDCDCD.
●Volta:
The volta usually occurs between lines 8 and 9.
