Introducing the Multi-WAN Features of GL.iNet Routers!
Multi-WAN routers are routers that come with two or more WAN Internet ports, allowing users to tap into multiple sources of Internet connectivity. Compared with traditional ones, GL.iNet’s Multi-WAN routers support Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Cellular network, and Tethering and offer several benefits, such as failover and load-balancing, and low-cost connection at the same time.
With this feature, you can configure the first connection as the primary and the other as a backup connection so that the backup will switch over when the primary Internet connection fails. Using intuitive and user-friendly interfaces, you can also effortlessly connect to multiple internet sources simultaneously, set priorities for different connections, and reserve cellular data as a backup or for specific purposes. For instance, in a traditional router setup, when you utilize multiple applications such as web browsers, VPNs, streaming services, and emails, which consume significant bandwidth, the entire load is directed to a single ISP. However, with multi-WAN, the load will be distributed among two or more ISPs, resulting in an overall faster internet speed. For related operations, you could refer to the steps demonstrated with Spitz AX in the video.(The Multi-WAN feature is accessible on all GL.iNet devices compatible with SDK4.x firmware. )
