Learning Chinese: Drinking Taiwanese Bubble Tea
No trip to Taiwan is complete with a cup of delicious bubble tea. In this video I'll be modelling some key vocabulary and sentence structures for ordering a cup of the bubbly good stuff.
BUT...these sentence structures don't just apply for bubble tea, they can be used for ordering all kinds of food and drink:
Key Vocab and Sentence Structures:
1. 泡泡 - bubble
2. 茶 - tea
3. 杯 - cup / glass
4. 珍珠 - pearl
5. 喝 - to drink
6. 。。。的话 - if (for example: 来台湾的话 = “if you come to Taiwan")
7. 一定 - certain; definitely
8. 台湾 - Taiwan
9. 有名 - famous
10. 吃 - to eat
11. 完 - complete; to finish
12. verb + 好了 = finished / ready (for example: 茶泡好了 = “The tea is ready"; 饭做好了 = “The food is cooked")
13. 小吃 - snacks
14. 这个 - this
15. 好的 - OK
16. 来 - colloquial for "give me" (For example: 来一杯啤酒 = "Please give me a glass of beer")
17. 鲜 - fresh
18. 奶油 - cream
19. 要 - to want
20. 就好 - enough
21. 七 - seven
22. 十 - ten
23. 五 - five
24. 七十五 - seventy five (literally: seven tens [plus] five)
25. 元 - Yuan; Taiwan Dollar
26. 在 - in / at
27. 外面 - outside
28. 等 - to wait
29. 稍等一下 - Please wait for a moment

30. 谢谢 - thank you
31. 哇塞! - Wow!
32. 特别 - especially; particularly
33. 非常 - very; extremely
34. 甜 - sweet

36. 好喝 - delicious (of drinks)
37. 尝 - to taste
38. 吧 - particle suggesting a proposal (for example: 走吧 = Let's go!)
39. verb 一 verb 吧 （for example: 尝一尝吧；试一试吧；看一看吧 = have a taste; have a try; have a look)
40. 交 - to give in exchange (for example in a shop: 我交你五块 = "There's 5 Yuan change")
