WHAT PET DO I TAKE? If you if you need to provide LUST for your group, you need a Ferocity Pet (I use wasp because it has a mortal strike function and just looks cool) If you do not need to provide LUST then you always take a Tenacity pet for the survivability. I use Pink Flamingos just because they look ridiculous but you can use a spirit beast which has an additional small survival CD but it's really not necessary, especially if you don't like the way they look.
