In this molding and casting tutorial we explain the basics of FP series casting rubbers. Her we cast a FP Polyurethane flexible rubber part from a TC-5110F Platinum silicone mold made in a previous video. FP series are "Fast Production" casting rubbers that range from ~40A to 90A. These are low viscosity, fast turn-around casting rubbers that are like casting resins, but for applications requiring a flexible part. FP Series rubbers may be cast solid or rotational cast to create hollow parts. Hollow parts may be backed with Polyurethane flexible foam, such as TC-284 or TC-266. This is a popular approach for creating "masters" for making production latex mask molds. Great for prototyping parts to simulate the feel of vinyl. FP Series rubbers are also ideal for reproducing vulcanized rubber parts for restoration work.

FP Series rubbers may also be softened with SC-22. SC-22 is a Polyurethane softening agent that may be used to lower the Shore A value. This additive allows you to adjust existing formulas to fit a specific need. In this video I add SC-22 to FP-40 to create a 20A softness.
