Born Gaius Caesar Germanicus, better known by the nickname ‘’Caligula’’ was the third roman emperor who reigned between 37 and 41 AD.
Nicknamed Caligula, which means ‘’ Little boot”.
While on the travels with his father, the father’s troops had found his tiny soldier outfit hilarious, thus giving him the nickname.
Caligula was born on August 31, 12AD in the city of Antium, Italy into a noble family, his father was Germanicus Caesar, and mother, Vipsania Agrippina the elder.
He is the great-grandson of Julius Caesar.
Numerous accounts and details about Caligula, testify to the fact that he was one of the evilest emperors in ancient Rome history.
Caligula’s reign, was that of tyranny, committing numerous crimes against humanity, re-introducing old forgone laws, even performing public executions.
He performed numerous extreme perversions and extrajudicial killings, even declaring war on the sea, sentencing people to death for not remembering his birthday.
Caligula would later be murdered alongside the family by a group of guardsmen, after ruling as emperor for four years.
