The creative mind is a porous medium. A membrane that lets things pass through, bounce around, filter and reemerge as marks on the paper.
Start by letting the hand move without deciding where it is going. Some areas get dense and some stay open and permeable, similar to attention itself. What comes through, what gets filtered, what bounces around and settles somewhere unexpected.
Draw without knowing what you are drawing. Let marks accumulate and notice where they cluster and where they thin out. Something may start to form underneath or it may not. The drawing becomes a kind of tissue, something you can look through as much as look at.
There is no right way to do this. Just an invitation to see what happens when you stop controlling the edges and let the marks find their own structure.
