In Oblivion - Cosmic Cataclysm (Full EP Stream)
Hey, as per usual it's been a while since I last uploaded something to YouTube. This time I present to you the first EP of our Band "In Oblivion" (based in Brandenburg an der Havel) that was released in January on a bunch of platforms, here's a link:

To have a band in which I do vocals has been a big dream of mine for a long time. I started listening to metal in around 8th grade I think and started to try to do vocals at around 9th grade maybe? It was a pretty on/off type deal but I always had a lot of fun practicing to bands like Whitechapel and Infant Annihilator. After many years of having very basic skills with metal vocals and not having a band to use them in I finally told Manon about that wish. Manon in turn hit up Hannes and Basti who then joined the band. After founding the band we were pretty immediately interrupted by Covid which made it harder to practice, but eventually limitations were lifted and we could freely continue. After a year or so I asked Joni if he wanted to join the band and he said yes. We changed our band name a whole bunch, going from Cosmoclysm to Cortex to finally In Oblivion. After we finished composing all the songs for this EP Manon really carried the whole recording, mixing and mastering and release process. He did all that, absolute MVP. Anyways I always like having albums and EPs available as a full stream somewhere, which is why I decided to upload this version here on YouTube on my personal channel. As per usual feel free to like, dislike, share your opinion, whatever you may want. I know it's rather harsh music, so if your ears are easily offended maybe just click away :D
Writing lyrics was a pretty big challenge to me. Between college, work and other projects like games I'm working on finding time to really sit down and just write for a few hours with a clear mind is difficult. Also I didn't have prior experience with writing lyrics which didn't make it easier. The "final product" is one continuous storyline over 5 tracks about an alien creator civilization that made us humans in their image as a basis for experimental science. They eventually turn away from us only for us to rediscover them by accident later on, resulting in a cosmic war that ends in the complete annihilation of the universe which then, as an entity, regains consciousness at the end. I'll drop the lyrics in a pinned comment.
