Meet Augusto Bitter - Performer and Theatre Creator.
Augusto is an incredibly talented performer and writer!
He's just come off of a successful run of his one-man show Chicho at Theatre Passe Muraille.
Augusto is a specialist in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Toronto! He has trained with Manifesto Poetico (Paris), Teatro delle Radici (Switzerland), Canada's National Voice Intensive, and Aluna Theatre's Interpretation Lab.
Augusto is currently a resident artist at Theatre Passe Muraille and Hub14!
Some of Augusto’s past credits include: Chicho (TPM/Pencil Kit Productions), Iphigenia and the Furies (On Taurian Land) (Saga Collectif), The Monument (Factory Theatre), Lear (Groundling Theatre Co.), Rope Running Out (lemonTree creations), and Our Town (Theatre Rusticle).
This past March, Pencil Kit Productions presented Chicho. It is a one man show written and performed by Augusto! He plays Chicho, an ashamed-queer-Catholic-man-boy from Venezuela. Through humour, he portrays the struggles Chicho faces in his homeland, and touches on the socio-economic crisis currently being experienced in Venezuela. The storyline is loosely based on his personal journey as a queer coming-of-age immigrant to Canada.
But the best match for his big talent is his big heart.
