Toronto Profiles Project: Actress Amanda Zhou
Amanda is a Toronto and China-based actress. As a graduate from York University's acting program she was also influenced by her grandmother, Xuan Zhou, an actress during the jazz era in Shanghai (soundtrack "Blooming Flowers and the Full Moon" used in Crazy Rich Asians (2018), Amanda eventually began formal acting training both on stage and on camera. She has a background in figure skating, dance, and singing. Along with her acting work, she has also recently begun filmmaking. Keep an eye out for her films soon.
But if you're wondering where you might recognize her, she's starring as the whip-smart and full of sass Jenn in the brand-new Netflix drama Spinning Out opposite Kaya Scodelario and January Jones. Watch now because this show (and Amanda) is definitely about to be a huge hit.
