Pseudomonas + non-fermenters (Part 2) - Veterinary Bacteriology and Mycology
In this lecture we discuss several clinically relevant non-fermentative Gram-negative rods. We'll spend the most time on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Burkholderia mallei and Burkholderia pseudomallei. As always, I cover virulence factors, sample collection and diagnostic strategies, and treatment options. In this lecture a lot of emphasis is placed on the important pathogens B. mallei and pseudomallei which cause Glanders and melioidosis respectively.
