Early Learning Development standards (ELDS) activities in ECCE class room
QAED with the support of UNICEF, has developed a draft Early Learning & Development Standards (ELDS) for ECCE students. These ELDS may be of great help for all stake holders to devise the assessment framework for ECCE to grade 3 students and these ELDS describe key concept and skills that young children develop during the period of early childhood. Their purpose is to support the development and well-being of young children and to foster their learning. The standards promote the understanding of early learning and development, provide a guide the design and implementation of curriculum. The standards present continuum of learning and development from age 3 to 5 and also describe developmental skills that children should have and concepts that they should have during these years. ELDS have multiple uses such as:
1. Providing the basis for Assessment Framework for Pre-primary classes.
2. Improving the educational process in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) classrooms.

3. For this activity, 20 enumerators/ ECCE Master Trainers (10 from central Punjab & 10 from South Punjab) are nominated for data collection from selected schools (list attached). They will stay in concened schools for whole day and observe activities of assigned child in ECCE classroom, through observation check-list.
