CBSE 3 Languages in class 9? Is Marathi or Hindi compulsory in CBSE Schools?
This video is meant to clear the doubts in the minds of the School leaders regarding the 3 language formula for class 9.
It is to be noted that for first language there is a choice between English and Hindi. If the school has chosen English as one of the languages, then Hindi is not a compulsory subject .
It is also to be noted that the students may choose 3 languages in the board exam where the 3rd language will be a 6th or 7th subject ( optional). In case the student fails to clear one of the first two languages, the 3rd language may replace that subject.
Marathi language if taken as a 3rd language , the students will get marks on a CBSE Mark sheet instead of grades on a school report card or letter head as mentioned in the video.
However the school and parents may decide if an additional language will help the child or not.
