Trevor took up knitting at the age of fifteen, arming himself with a cardigan pattern, some library books and a bag of black mohair. He knitted several sweaters over the next five years and wore them until they fell apart.
Then he took a knitting break for 30 years until 2014, when he wanted a traditional Aran sweater and decided to make one for himself. He’s been knitting solidly ever since, and wants his 30 years back!
He loves sweater construction, traditional Fair Isle design, and the wonderful fabrics that can be made with sequences and marls, inspired by the work of Cecelia Campochiaro. He knits with a Shetland knitting belt and rarely uses a pattern, preferring to devise his own designs for himself and for friends. Trevor was brought up in northern England, but has also lived in Scotland and France. Since 2006 he’s been living and working in Valencia, Spain.
Trevor is an active member of Ravelry (as ‘trevster’), and a moderator in the Friends of Cecelia Campochiaro group.
