This is a nifty feature that got introduced to Adobe Premiere not too long ago. Before this update when you wanted to work with motion graphics the only option was After effects.
You would create the composition in after effects and then export the video to be imported to premiere pro or you could drag the project file to the time and those workflows had some bottlenecks (Render speed + compatibility issues). This workflow simply works because it gives you the leverage of having your favorite motion graphics template from after effects right in Adobe premiere pro and you can easily make changes to it without having to go back to Adobe aftereffects for that.
